Richard M. Nelson


Richard Nelson joined Nowa Technology in 2007. He brought with him more than 40 years of experience in entrepreneurial organizations. He has served as president of two CIGNA wholly-owned subsidiaries, general partner with JDR Properties in New York, president and CEO of the Grant Nelson Group and principal with Coterie, LLC. His extensive experience with business development, strategic planning and financing has allowed him to help move the Nowa Process forward.

Scott Nelson


Scott Nelson joined Nowa in 2011. As a senior executive focused on leading organizations through strategic growth, Scott has broad experience in technology, venture capital, marketing, financial services wholesale and international business. Since joining Nowa, Scott has been evaluating and developing markets in South America, Asia, Gulf Cooperation Council countries, Europe and Africa. An attorney, Scott’s prior positions as President, General Counsel, Marketing, and CFO uniquely enable him to help drive Nowa into the future.

Lou Steele

Senior Vice President Global Markets

Lou Steele joined Nowa initially serving as international business consultant. He now serves as Senior Vice President and Director of Global Markets. Lou’s focus is on international business development and capital formation. Lou’s leadership has resulted in new business opportunities and access to capital from Europe, The Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Asia. Earlier in his career, Lou was one of two owners of Prudential CRES Commercial Real Estate. He has served on numerous business and civic boards during his career.

John Oakland

Vice President – Project Management

Mr. Oakland has a B.S. Chemical Engineering and Industrial Engineering. He has over three decades of experience managing major capital projects for the chemical, refinery, petrochemical, LNG, pipeline, nuclear, and industrial (including water and wastewater) industries, as well as the U.S. Dept. of Energy, and numerous foreign governments. He was the president of Bechtel Savannah River Inc. for eight years before leaving to be the Project Manager of a new petrochemical plant in Saudi Arabia. He has worked construction projects in United States, Canada, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Asia Pacific Region. Mr. Oakland has experience in negotiating and executing cost plus, lump sum and target price contracts for design and construction work.

Karl Wilke

Vice President – Engineering

Mr. Wilke joined Nowa in February of 2010. He has over 20 years of technical management experience. Mr. Wilke specializes in production automation, cost saving improvements, and production support. He has excelled while working for small national groups to large multinational companies. Mr. Wilke has a B.S. Electrical Engineering with a specialty in Metaltronics, B.S. Computer Science, and B.A. Mathematics.

Charles Coronella

Technical Advisor
Ph.D., Chem. E., P.E.

An associate professor of chemical engineering at the University of Nevada–Reno, Dr. Coronella serves as a special consultant to Nowa Technology. He has had a special interest in waste–to–energy conversion of wastewater sludge for some time and has done independent research into various aspects of conversion. His expertise fuels our innovation and provides us with the knowledge we need to make the Nowa Process work today and well into tomorrow.
